ACPPA Community Art Center is just one of Norristown’s many gems. Tucked within an old stone church on the West End of town, the community art center offers endless possibilities for creative exploration. Following its mission of improving life through art, ACPPA Community Art Center strives to make the arts and art education accessible to all through professional and affordable programming. Recently expanded, the art center offers something for everyone in our bright and spacious studios. Our two hardwood floored dance studios provide space for classes in ballet, jazz, and hip hop as well as yoga and pilates. Students can paint, print, and draw in the visual arts studio and then head across the hall to the ceramics studio to try their hand at handbuilding and glazing pottery. Our performing arts studio boasts a built in practice stage for singing, strumming a guitar, or acting out a scene.
ACPPA Community Art Center is also home to CASA (Creative Afterschool Alternatives), a free afterschool program for middle school students. Open from 3:30-5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday, CASA offers a safe place for middle-school students to complete homework with adult assistance, enjoy a healthy snack, and to use the arts to have fun while learning.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY CONCERT BAND
The MONTGOMERY COUNTY CONCERT BAND was founded in 1995 by Stephen
Frederick, former North Penn HS Band Director and Principal along with
area businessman Paul Ferla. Since its beginning the Band has presented
concerts for a variety of community celebrations, seasonal park concerts
and holiday events throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania. Each year
formal concerts are held in November and May. The members come from a
variety of daily occupations - including education, home makers, the
business world, computer industry, clergy, systems analysts and
students. Several members are retirees. Players began their musical
journey participating in school music programs. Many continued through
the years to play in groups beyond the school setting and many have
joined the MCCB to rekindle their love of playing music in the concert
ensemble setting. Musicians and directors are all volunteers and donate
their time preparing and performing the various programs.
